New Old technology...

The Utah Coaches Group met again for the second time....

A nice little round table.  And now me with a presentation for the next meeting on the TrainingManager.  Perhaps we can make this a dual meeting, one day for the group only covering the coaching aspects of the TrainingManager, and another open to the general public - perhaps starting a series of Utah Coaching Group clinics offered to local racers.

Anywho - also have the upcoming Ridley Cyclocross Clinic:

more info here

And the tenative title is:

"Physiological requirements of cyclocross and training specificity"

Catchy eh?

Anyway, tonights discussion on overtraining/overreaching brought out a little piece of my "vintage" (1989 dammit!) polar hardware - the Advantage interface.

Running in the Polar Precision Performance 2.1 software, you can actually record the R-R intervals of your heartbeat and plot it:

coolio no?  ingore the bad data - it doesn't actually like my bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

But perhaps with enough data collection it might offer some insight (if not see a little more use - as it hasn't been used since the purchase of my first SRM).

more to follow...

btw... I heard comments about the website not being updated in some time and that we might not be in business.  the reality is we are in business, but don't have the time/bandwidth/etc. to stress to much about the website.  I have always focused more on the guts of our offerings - power-based coaching and the informal research that I share here.  Guess it is time to float it to the top of the list no?
